AFTERCARE
Tattoo
Aftercare instructions:
During the healing stage
-
If saniderm was applied, keep on for 1-3 days.
-
Remove saniderm under running water, do not rip off
-
Keep new tattoos clean with antibacterial soap. After each wash, pat the tattoo dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
-
After each wash, apply a thin layer of ointment provided or unscented lotion.
-
After a few days a new tattoo will start to develop scabs. (This is normal)
-
After your scabs have all fallen off naturally (Do not forcefully remove scabs. Scented lotion can cause irritation and a
burning sensation.)
-
Keep all tattoos out of direct sunlight. (Direct sunlight can burn the skin, cause
irritation and rapidly dry out the skin.)
-
Do not swim with a new tattoo. (During the healing process your tattoo will be more
susceptible to infections. Keeping the tattoo out of dirty water for 3 weeks is recommended.)
After the healing process
-
Tattoos typically heal enough to resist infections within 2-3 weeks.
-
Tattoos are typically completely healed after 2-3 months. (Meaning it is no longer
sensitive and can be touched up without risk of scarring.)
-
Keep all tattoos moisturized as much as possible. (Our skin is constantly shedding,
when we keep our skin moisturized it will help prevent tattoos from fading obsessive-
ly over time.)
-
Always use sunblock. (Sun can damage our skin and cause tattoos to fade rapidly.)
If you feel your tattoo is healing abnormally please reach out to me for advice.
